What does Renzo Staking actually accept?
Renzo uses separate vaults, meaning separate deposit pools with their own rules. ETH or stETH belongs in the ezETH route. ETH, wETH, stETH, or wstETH can be used for pzETH. Bitcoin itself is not the deposit asset for ezBTC: the supported asset is Ethereum-compatible wBTC, a token representing Bitcoin on an EVM network.
On Solana, the relevant route is ezSOL. It accepts SOL or JitoSOL and returns ezSOL, a liquid receipt token representing the position. REZ and SKATE also have their own dedicated routes. A token symbol appearing somewhere in the Renzo ecosystem does not mean every vault accepts it.
The practical rule is simple: select the product first, then read the asset dropdown shown for that product. Do not send an asset merely because it has a similar name.
Which networks can you use?
Network support is product-specific. Renzo’s documentation describes ezETH deposits through an EVM wallet and identifies Ethereum mainnet, Arbitrum, and Base for native L2 restaking. Other products can have different network availability, bridge routes, withdrawal locations, and fees.
That means ETH on Ethereum is not automatically the same deposit as ETH on Base or Arbitrum. The app must show the exact network and asset combination together. If the product selector does not display your chain, treat it as unsupported until the official interface says otherwise.
Renzo also offers bridging for Renzo assets, but bridging an existing ezETH, ezBTC, or another supported receipt token is different from depositing an arbitrary token into a staking vault.
What kind of wallet connects?
Ethereum-based products require a compatible EVM wallet. EVM means a wallet that can interact with Ethereum-style smart contracts and networks such as Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Base. The documentation describes this simply as connecting an “EVM wallet”; it does not make every wallet or exchange account automatically compatible.
ezSOL uses a Solana wallet. A Bitcoin-only wallet cannot deposit wBTC into an Ethereum vault, and a Solana wallet cannot replace an EVM wallet for ezETH or pzETH. You also need the network’s native token for transaction fees: ETH on EVM routes and SOL on Solana.
I find Renzo handles liquid restaking well when the asset, network, and wallet all line up. I slow down and check the official product page when a deposit involves bridging, a less familiar token, or a withdrawal with a stated cooldown.
Which deposits will Renzo reject?
Renzo will not take an unlisted asset, even if the token is popular. Examples include depositing USDC into ezETH, native BTC into ezBTC, or an unrelated ERC-20 token into a vault that lists only ETH and LSTs. An LST is a liquid staking token, such as stETH, that represents staked ETH.
It also will not accept a wallet that is on the wrong chain for the selected route. The transaction may fail before signing, or the wallet may ask you to switch networks. Sending funds directly to a contract address instead of using the deposit flow is not a substitute for a supported deposit.
Finally, an exchange balance is not the same as a connected self-custody wallet. You must be able to approve and sign the transaction from the wallet the app recognizes.
Which failure message tells you what is wrong?
- Connect Wallet: no wallet session is active.
- Switch Network or Wrong Network: the wallet is connected to a chain the route does not use.
- Insufficient balance: you lack enough of the selected asset, or enough native gas token to complete the transaction.
- Insufficient allowance: the token approval has not been completed.
- User rejected the request: the wallet prompt was cancelled or declined.
- Transaction reverted: the blockchain rejected the call; check the selected asset, amount, cap, and current route.
- Withdrawal pending or Claim: the exit has not finished and the returned asset is not ready to collect.
Do not keep clicking “Confirm” after a revert. First check the explorer transaction, the selected network, and whether the product has a deposit cap or withdrawal queue.
